cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens will host a section of The Amazing Northampton Run that takes place on Sunday 10 September.
The day after Northampton Saints take on Cambridge in the Premiership Rugby Cup encounter, thousands of runners will pound the tarmac surrounding cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens.
Participants of the half-marathon will also navigate their way past Northampton Town Football Club’s Sixfields Stadium, and Northamptonshire County Cricket Club’s County Ground, before finishing where the event starts in Market Square.
Saints’ section of the route sees runners enter the car park on Edgar Mobbs Way before turning into the Supporter Village and following the edge of the stadium, through the VIP car park and out onto Weedon Road.
The 13.1 mile event raises money for more than 30 charity partners and Saints supporters can head to Franklin’s Gardens to show their support on Sunday, with runners expected to be entering and leaving the site between 9.45am and 10.25am.
“It’s the tenth year of the run and we have a brand-new route,” said race director Simon Hollis. “We want to showcase the best of Northampton during this event so we had to factor in the home of Northampton Saints.
“It would be amazing to see some Saints supporters come along in the famous Black, Green and Gold to boost the runners on their journeys and raise money for many great causes.”
